Akamai’s Major Account Executive is responsible for the sales cycle - from lead generation, renewals to deal closures by creating the demand within their region across all business verticals and assigned accounts. About the Job Akamai recently completed the acquisition of Soasta Inc and their Digital Performance Management (DPM) Platform.With the Akamai Digital Performance Management (DPM) platform clients harness 100% of their real user data to continuously monitor, test, analyze and validate their sites and apps in realtime and at scale in order to guarantee the best possible user experience and business outcomes. The Akamai DPM offering sits within the Web Division and the Major Account Executive will be responsible for the strategic objective of growing and maximizing revenue generation for large and strategic Key Accounts within the market. The candidate will be responsible for key cross verticals - Digital Media, eCommerce, Retail, Financial Services and High Tech with focus on selling Akamai Digital Performance Management. The candidate´s responsibilities should include but are not limited to creating a business plan for success that includes marketing activities, pipeline development with the supporting and dedicated telesales team and strategic selling (cold calling, prospect qualification, strategic sales process planning, exploring and closing all new business and revenue opportunities). About the Team The Akamai Web Division is responsible for growing customer count and revenues for Akamai in key verticals - Digital Media, High Tech, Retail, eCommerce & Financial Services. Responsibilities Akamai Major Account Executives are responsible for both a revenue number as well as a new business number (Committed Contract Value). Goals/Quotas are set annually but measured monthly and quarterly. Key Major Account Executive activities are focused on acquiring New Customers, defending existing revenue, renewing contracts, prospecting for new business and reporting your activity through Salesforce.com (using all the correct processes) on a daily and weekly basis. * Identify, research, prospect and acquire New Customers within set of Target Industry Prospects. * Deliver and overachieve on all annual goals: Revenue, New Customer Contract Value, New Customer Units, Strategic Product Sales. * Manage and maintain all pipeline/sales related activity within the sales reporting system. * Work as part of an ‘Integrated Account Team’ to define and deliver a premium customer experience over multiple year engagements. Basic Qualifications * Extensive work experience in solution sales preferably from an Application Performance Management and/or Performance Analytics background. * Ideal candidates will bring with them a range of Internet industry-related contacts. * Strong background in Performance Analytics and/or enterprise solution software required. * Demonstrable and proven track record in over-achieving quarterly and annual quota. * Must have strong knowledge of Internet and telecommunications concepts and demonstrate the ability to discuss them with intelligence and conviction. * Experience in successfully executing complex sales cycles with key decision makers. * Formal sales training a must: Solution-Selling and/or Value Selling training preferred. * Must have high ethics, integrity, and humility and have a desire to be part of a world-class sales and support organization. * BA/BS Degree. * Fluent in English. **About Akamai Technologies** Akamai is the global leader in Content Delivery Network (CDN) services, making the Internet business ready—fast, reliable, and secure—for its customers.
