MCD Communities is seeking energetic and talented individuals to serve as Direct Support Professional-1 Floats (DSP-Floats). As a DSP-1 Float, you will provide direct care to people in various residential programs that serve adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This position is guaranteed weekly hours, with a varying schedule. This position requires flexibility with an understanding that the purpose of the DSP-I Float is to fill shifts as they are scheduled and assigned based on the need of the program. This will require a willingness to work in various group homes with multiple residents on any scheduled shift. Individuals in this position must be able to function comfortably in multiple team environments and relate well to coworkers and residents. This position requires patience, empathy, flexibility, and creativity. The ideal candidate would be able to: Support individuals in community activities, teach life skills, and encourage clients to be as independent as possible. Assist with personal care and hygiene, as needed, and to treat all individuals with dignity and respect. Complete documentation, as required. Complete Direct Support Professional (DSP) certification and other certifications, as needed (paid by MCD Communities). Job Requirements High School Diploma or GED DSP Certification MANDT Certification CPR/First Aide Certification 40 hour Certified Residential Medication Aide Valid Maine driver's license 2 years of experience working in an MCD Communities’ group home, or 5 years of experience working in the Intellectual and Developmentally Disabled (IDD) field.
