Our client is looking to hire a Farm Maintenance Manager/Supervisor to assure the grounds, buildings and employee housing are kept in workmanlike condition. The Farm Maintenance Manager will supervise, train and develop a staff of 3 Maintenance workers to meet the needs of the farm and projects that need attention. Responsibilities: • Direct team and act as a role-model to the maintenance staff and create a positive work environment by leading the staff in the established maintenance plan and procedures including scheduling of tasks, projects, maintenance needs of the farm and all employee housing. • Performs farm maintenance functions as a working supervisor in the areas of electrical, plumbing, heating, cooling systems, painting, and carpentry, masonry, and roofing and fence repairs as well as general housing maintenance for employee housing. • Mechanical duties would include small repairs on farm equipment such as lawn mowers, packaging equipment, welding cracked pipe fittings, updating and replacing parts of equipment or in employee housing; upgrading of outdated components and small building maintenance projects around the farm. • Trains, schedules, develop and manage the performance of the maintenance staff to ensure the maintenance goals of the farm are being met. Ensure that the maintenance staff complies with company policies and safety standards. • Formulate and recommend maintenance needs throughout the farm and the housing. • Exhibit leadership and a professional manner in dealing with others, working to maintain constructive working relationships. Communicate directly with the maintenance team and Operations to coordinate maintenance and repair work in process area. • Schedules maintenance staff to handle emergency maintenance requests on the farm. • Complete all other duties as assigned. Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Ability to communicate effectively as a leader/manager to other department managers and subordinates. • Proven abilities and proficiency performing maintenance in all of the following areas: electrical, plumbing, appliance repair, carpentry, painting, carpet repair, roofing, furnace and air conditioning repair. • Excellent supervisory and training skills. • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with persons of diverse social, cultural and ethnic backgrounds. • Ability to manage and lead a team to achieve maintenance and farm goals Education and Experience Required: • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required • 5 plus years’ experience • Valid Driver’s License and able to pass a driving record • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test Compensation: Great compensation, paid vacation, health insurance and company vehicle provided while on the farm.
