Job Description

  • Analyzing inspection problems and verifying dimensions;
  • Devising procedures necessary to measure specified dimensions;
  • Ensuring parts meet requirements by testing;
  • Analyzing defective parts and working with supervisor or department to troubleshoot problems;
  • Recommending corrective procedures to design, methods, process, or production engineering departments;
  • Inspecting machining or assembly fixtures, tools, or gauges for possible replacement or new equipment;
  • Guiding subsequent machining by measuring, marking, and scribing dimensions and reference points on material or workplace.


Education:   2-year technical degree or diploma preferred.


Required Skills:

  • Technical degree, or three years of experience, or a combination of education and experience;
  • Experience working with geometrical concepts, dimensions and tolerance;
  • Troubleshooting and problem solving skills;
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds;
  • Good reading, writing and presentation skills.
